What's New
A running summary of recent improvements to LucentBid. Last updated: August 27, 2026
August 26–27, 2026
- Plan notes are now fully customizable — resize a note, move it anywhere on the page, and set its font size, text color, box color, and transparency to make it stand out (or blend in) exactly how you want.
- Fixed a resolution issue affecting some large-format survey and CAD-exported PDF plans, where a printing setting on the original drawing could quietly cut the imported resolution in half. Fine print and small device labels now stay legible even zoomed in.
- Add free-text notes directly on a plan page — e.g. "verify ceiling height before quoting" — separate from your measurements and device counts.
- Export Plan: produce a clean, printable copy of a plan page (or a whole plan) with your markups drawn on it, ready to save as a PDF. Choose what to include and whether to export one page or all of them.
- Creating or editing a project now opens on its own full page instead of a small pop-up, with more room for customer search, contact details, and everything else a project needs.
- Plan imports render noticeably sharper — about 2.5x more detail on a typical PDF plan, so small notes and fine print are legible when you zoom in.
- Fixed replacing a plan page with a PDF file, which previously didn't work correctly.
August 24–25, 2026
- New Customers list — save a customer's name and address once and reuse it across every project instead of retyping it each time.
- Add a specific contact person to each project, separate from the customer record, shown on the printed proposal as "Proposal Prepared For."
- Projects can now be marked Open or Closed, with a filter to quickly find active or past-due jobs.
- Cleaner main navigation — a persistent sidebar replaces the old tab strip across the top.
- A closed project's proposal date now locks in place, so a proposal you already sent won't show a different date if it's reprinted later for reference.
August 22–23, 2026
- Every screen now has its own shareable link, and your browser's back/forward buttons work the way you'd expect throughout the app.
- Plans view — see every page of a plan as a thumbnail, select several at once, and add, replace, or delete pages without hunting through the takeoff toolbar.
- Add your company logo, license number, tagline, phone, website, and terms & conditions in Settings — they now appear on every printed proposal.
- Notes and Exclusions sections on the Proposal tab, plus a dedicated signature page for pricing and sign-off on every printed proposal.
August 19–20, 2026
- LucentBid launched as its own standalone product, with secure accounts (your company's data is never visible to any other company), invite-only sign-up, and required email verification.
- Added self-service "Forgot password?" reset.
