Terms of Service

This is a working draft, published early so anyone requesting access can see it. It hasn't been reviewed by an attorney yet, and it will be revised before LucentBid is offered as a paid service. If anything here changes in a way that matters to you, we'll say so plainly, not bury it in a rewrite.

Using LucentBid

By creating an account or using LucentBid, you're agreeing to these terms. If you're using it on behalf of a company, you're confirming you have the authority to agree on that company's behalf.

No warranty

LucentBid is provided "as is," without warranty or guarantee of any kind — express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

Estimates, takeoffs, and quantities produced using LucentBid are only as accurate as the measurements, pricing, and plans entered into it. You're responsible for reviewing and verifying any estimate or proposal before relying on it for a bid or contract — LucentBid is a tool to help you build that estimate, not a substitute for your own review.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LucentBid and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including lost profits, lost data, or a bid based on an inaccurate estimate.

Your data

Your projects, customer information, plan files, pricing, and everything else you store in LucentBid belong to you. Specifically:

We do not sell your data, or any part of it, to anyone.
We do not share or provide your data to any other entity, except where required to comply with a valid legal process (such as a court order) or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LucentBid, its users, or the public.
Your data is used only to operate LucentBid for you — storing it, backing it up, and showing it back to you and whoever you've explicitly shared a project with.

If you delete your account, your data is removed according to the deletion process described in the app — an account admin can also deactivate or delete a company's account entirely, which permanently removes its data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as LucentBid develops. Since this is an early, actively-changing product, check back here occasionally — meaningful changes (especially anything affecting the data commitment above) will also be communicated directly, not just posted quietly.
